About the Tour

World War II was the biggest tragedy in Wroclaw in its 1000 year history. The city changed completely. The last days of German Wroclaw were marked by the name of Festung Breslau (Wroclaw Fortress), as the city defended itself against the Soviet army. The city was not conquered until the end of the war, defended until the last drop of blood, sacrificed on the altar of Nazi propaganda. The capitulation of Breslau was signed on May 6, 1945, four days later to that of Berlin. During the World War II and Wroclaw tour, you will also discover more than 800 years of the history of the Jewish community in the city. A story about the search for identity and happiness. The Jews had a great impact on the development of the city. It is impossible to describe modern Judaism without the rabbis of Wroclaw, such as Abraham Geiger or Zacharias Frankel. In addition, you will discover how the Jewish settlement in the suburbs became the most lively area of Wroclaw.
