About the Tour

Gdansk is one of the most important cities in Europe: a place where World War 2 began and the collapse of communism was ignited.

The city was in rubbles by the end of WW2 and our story begins here. Almost all of its pre-war population is gone, and new settlers from the east arrive. The new system is then introduced: workers' paradise under communist rule. Never fulfilling its mirage promise, the system is torn apart by the very people, who were supposed to be its loyal supporters: the workers themselves. And it was the famous Shipyard of Gdansk, where the collapse of the system found its hotspot.

We will travel in time from the destruction of Gdansk to the shipyards, from the Free City of Danzig to the City of Freedom. Join us for a tour that will help you understand the complicated modern history of Gdansk and its people. Walk with us along the path that brought freedom to half of Europe.
