Old Bucharest Free Walking Tour- from Dracula to Ceausescu

Learn the history of Bucharest from a local! This tour is designed to give you an overview of what makes Bucharest a city as great as any other large european city. We will walk through about 600 years of history and learn how a backdrop, medieval military outpost became one of the most important European trade-centers, even dubbed `Little Paris' (because of rich French-inspired architecture) or the `New Berlin` (due to its colorful street-art).

• We will start the tour right next to Romania's first Parliament building (no, not the current, more famous one :) ), which is nowadays a lesser known monument for most people.

I work with a UNESCO affiliated NGO on research and preservation of national heritage sites. Since my job requires me to have access to a wealth of information and historical resources I love sharing all that with anyone who is willing to listen. :) I am what some may call a history buff (occupational hazard in my case) so please don’t get too annoyed If I may tend to throw around too many details, names and historical dates. ??

I will be by the big statue in Bibescu Voda Park, 5 minutes (300 m) from the Piata Unirii 1 metro exit. I will be having a green folder in my hands.
