About the Tour

First, we will visit Gorica. I was born and raised in this historic area and will explain the history culture and traditions.

Next, we will explore Mangalem (a quarter of the thousand windows).
We will also explore mosques, and churches, and also discuss the architectural features of the city.
Finally, we will see the castle of Berat. I will explain the history over the centuries since its construction - including mythology and way of life.
We will see the Acropolis, the Saint Triadha church, the Red Mosque, the water reservoir, etc.
We will discuss the famous Purple Codex of Berat which was found in the Onufri iconographical museum. If you have interest, we can tour the museum (they charge a small fee for entrance).

After the tour, everyone is invited to join me at the restaurant and bar in Gorica for entertainment, food, and homemade wine.

Hi, I'm Lorenc. I am a guru of Berat and I'm a fun person. I am the kind of person that loves meeting & talking with people from all over the world to share their history, philosophy, & culture, from my perspective. I managed a restaurant in Italy and worked for many years in the Greek islands. I enjoy playing music and singing in my free time. I own and work in a house that is more than 400 years old. I was born and raised here, and I currently reside here.
